WHAT COMPLETION MEANS
Training and DOT collector qualification.
For DOT urine collections, 49 CFR Part 40 requires collectors to complete qualification training and successfully complete five consecutive error-free mock collections, monitored and evaluated by an appropriately qualified person.
DMW’s course is designed to cover the required DOT urine collector qualification-training content and the five required mock collections. Students who successfully complete the course receive a certificate of completion.
Completion note
Successful completion of the required training and five error-free mock collections documents completion of the collector qualification process under 49 CFR Part 40 for DOT urine collection. This is not a government-issued license or professional license. Employers, laboratories, C/TPAs or other organizations may have additional onboarding or contracting requirements.

Is this the same as DMWCCIA?
No. This standalone course ($399) focuses on drug testing specimen collection. The DMW Certified Collector & Instructor Academy (DMWCCIA, 1-Day · $499) is a separate program that also covers CPR instructor training, DNA specimen collection and ink fingerprinting.

Will I receive a certificate?
Students who successfully complete the course and the required mock collections receive a certificate of completion. Certificates of completion are not professional licenses or government-issued credentials.
